Pay and display car park, cafe and toilets adjacent to the changeover point

3a. From the start (TF 634 211) (W3W also.daffodils.clutter) follow Burnham Overy Staithe bank on the upper level for 1.2 miles.
3b. At the end of the bank path is a post. Proceed along the sandy track, bearing to the left.
3c. After 50m, take the wider sandy track on the left and continue along this track for 300m, crossing the dunes and descending onto the beach (at the footpath sign). Then turn right, keeping the dunes on your right as you continue east along the beach.
3d. Continue along the beach for 1.2 miles until reaching the end of the roped-off area (which is within the dunes for nesting birds). There is a white post immediately on your left on the beach, and there will usually be a red Norfolk Gazelles feather flag marking the point at which you turn right off the beach towards the trees.
3e. At this point (W3W skim.noisy.overhear) turn right onto a distinctive sandy path and continue for 325m through the dunes and into the wood. ⚠ Once in the wood, beware of trip hazard from exposed tree roots which may protrude and be slippery.
3f. Continue straight along the path through the wood (ignoring the unmarked crossing of paths) until you meet a major four track junction with a signpost (W3W disposing.puncture.staked). Turn left, following the track signed 'Lady Anne's Drive 1m'. ⚠ Beware of trip hazard from exposed tree roots which may protrude and be slippery.
3g. At all junctions on the track leading to Lady Anne's Drive keep straight ahead. NB: Lady Anne's Drive is an RNR access point.
3h. At the junction with Lady Anne's Drive (TF 890 448) (W3W arose.clasps.lunging) continue straight over, following the Coastal Path sign. Do not turn left and follow the boardwalk towards the beach, or turn right the tarmac driveway heading inland. Keep The Lookout visitor centre to your right (you are now 1.7 miles from the changeover).
3i. Continue along this footpath for 1.5 miles until reaching the start of the caravan camp area ahead (TF 908 453) (W3W ratty.unopposed.hulk), continue along the footpath bearing round to the left and carry for 400 metres.
3j. At the next track junction (TF 911 455) (W3W duties.repayment.sooner) continue on the footpath bearing right, with the boating lake on your right. Go through the gate and follow the path to the left under the trees, running parallel with the car park, for 200 metres.
3k. At the end of the path under the trees (W3W supreme.deprive.derailed) turn right into the car park and run along the fence line by the side of the Beach Cafe seating area, heading towards the public toilet block. Do not run through the seating area at the Beach Cafe! Immediately before reaching the toilet block turn left (W3W nurtures.desks.scavenger), then bear left again up the ramp onto the beach bank. ⚠ Beware of moving vehicles in the car park and on the roundabout before the ramp.
3l. At the top of the ramp (W3W pumps.kite.jots) turn right onto the long, straight path towards Wells town. The changeover (TF 915 455) (W3W captions.graver.cycles) is 50 metres ahead, adjacent to the concrete steps.
